bulletOn Sunday 8th March 2009 a choral Eucharist service was held at St Olaf's for the first time in nearly a century. The singing was led by Denise Stout conducting a specially formed group - St Olaf's Singers - and included 'Drop, Drop Slow Tears' by Orlando Gibbons and 'God So Loved the World' from Stainer's Crucifixion, as well as the Kyrie, Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei from the Communion Service in F by Harold Darke.

The singing was very well-received and so another choral service is being planned for Whit Sunday, 31st May 2009.
bulletBishop Bob visited Orkney between December 4th and December 9th 2008, during which time he visited Rousay and participated in services at St Olaf's, Kirkwall and St Mary's, Stromness. He also visited the Sea Cadets with Rev David Dawson.
bulletIn October 2008 one member of the congregation joined an ecumenical group of Orcadians who went on a week's retreat to Iona, where they stayed in the Macleod Centre run by the Iona Community. This was a moving and rewarding experience for all involved. The pictures in Iona provide a record of the visit, which included a trip to Fingal's Cave in Staffa, and a pilgrimage round Iona to all the places of historic and religious importance including the bay where St Columba first landed from Ireland.
